Tiling is the part of a job people notice for the next fifteen years. A cut that lands badly at a doorway, or a course that runs out of square against a window, cannot be unseen.
We set out before we start: full tiles where the eye lands, cuts pushed to where they are least visible, and levels checked against the room rather than the floor. Floors are levelled before anything is laid, because no covering hides a dip.
